Specialists treat cleft lip and palate with the help of other experts through different methods on various age groups in Iran. Since there was no solid treatment protocol involving a professional team , the treatment results were not satisfactory in general; Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute formed a subspecialty team including: plastic surgeon, genetics consultant, pediatric cardiologist, speech therapist, ENT surgeon, and orthodontist to adapt a solid treatment protocol in accordance with the international standards in order to achieve optimal results. This helps children regain their health and eventually become a productive member of their community.
