Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute held a monthly orthodontic clinic headed by Dr. Mohsen Shirazi (an orthodontist and a faculty member of Tehran University of Medical Sciences) on June 21, 2018. Children born with a cleft lip and/or palate may develop dental problems and require regular costly orthodontic procedural steps. Orthodontists work closely with a speech therapy team throughout treatment procedure to resolve speech problems.
In addition to facial deformities, these children also experience problems with speech development, affecting their social interactions and causing psychological problems; therefore, their immediate treatment is highly stressed.
Subspecialty clinics of Zanjireh Omid charity institute is held regularly to diagnose and treat underprivileged children under 18 suffering from cardiac, orthopedic and reconstructive problems under the supervision Iranian and French volunteer doctors.
