Free Children's Orthopedic Clinic at Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute

With the Attendance of Occupational and Physiotherapists

Zanjireh Omid hosted a free children’s orthopedic assessment clinic on Saturday, September 23 at Children's House of the institute. Dr. Nabian and Atarbashi, two of Zanjireh Omid volunteer doctors examined 25 patients under 18 years old. This program was provided to help review orthopedic condition in children, such as those who have CP, arthrogryposis, hydrocephaly, and microcephaly.

Orthopedic disorders might have an adverse impact on body muscles, however; such problems could be treated by physiotherapy and occupational therapy. Most children suffering from CP require Botox injections, a service provided by Zanjireh Omid institute at no charge. 

Majority of the children at the clinic who had CP also suffered from physical problems depending on the extent of their injuries. Several others had joint stiffness, hydrocephaly and microcephaly. A Number of patients with metabolic disorders were prescribed occupational therapy by the doctors. 

Certain cases were scheduled to have surgery at the hospitals contracted by Zanjireh Omid and others would use occupational therapy and physiotherapy services offered by the institute. 

Zanjireh Omid charity institute provides excellent outpatient and inpatient care for underprivileged children from birth to 18 years with orthopedic problems. The services offered by Zanjireh Omid include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and surgical operations to children of low-come families living in Iran or neighboring countries.
