A hand surgery consultation session was held at Children's House of Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute. Professor Philippe Valenti, head of pediatric surgery unit at Mayo clinic and one of most acclaimed hand specialist across Europe examined patients together with his medial team and Iran's medical team headed by Dr. Zargar. Around 120 children suffering from brachial problems were examined at this charity event. Following the examination, 35 patients were scheduled to have surgery by prof. Valenti and his team two days after the consultation which is a highly significant number. The surgeries were performed using unprecedented new method for the first time in Iran. Zanjireh Omid is carrying out a project on Erb's palsy to facilitate its diagnosis right after birth. Erb's palsy  is a paralysis of the arm caused by injury to the upper group of the arm's main nerves, specifically the severing of the upper trunk C5–C6 nerves, most often caused during difficult birth delivery. Surgery of Erb Palsy requires a certain type of glue manufactured in USA. Due to Economic sanctions, the glue import is not possible. Zanjireh Omid has managed to import 50 boxes of the glue for treatment of underprivileged children via a third country. Import costs of the glues are about 1.5 million Tomans, funded totally by Zanjireh Omid Charity Institute.
