Inauguration of the New ICU at Children's Medical Center

The first phase of pediatric ICU was officially inaugurated by Dr. Hashemi, the honorable minister of Health and Maryam Marashi, Managing Director of Zanjireh Omid institute on July 2, 2017 .
The ceremony was attended by chancellor of TUMs, chairman of Medical center: Dr Bidu and pediatric specialists. The construction and equipment costs of the new unit have been funded by Zanjireh Omid Institute. The ICU is dedicated to infants who have passed their newborn state but are still considered babies. It was required to establish an ICU for such age range.
Pointing out to lack of expertise and equipment in pediatric field; Maryam Marashi stated that the center is a big step toward the mission and vision of Zanjireh Omid charity institute. She also pointed out to the construction of the new pediatric hospital as a measure to reduce the current shortfall. The managing director of Zanjireh Omid spoke with Iran's health minister about the significance of the hospital project, the health minister agreed to support and facilitate the project.

Reza Shervin Bidu- chairman of Children Medical center also made a speech at the ceremony and stated that this is the first infant ICU with 12 beds dedicated to fill the age gap existing between newborns and children ICUs at CMC.
